When we saw these photos, we could NOT believe that they were taken in New Jersey! Just kidding! Photographing Matt and Melissa's wedding at Crystal Springs Resort was so much fun because the scenery is just gorgeous. The woodsy vibe and the beautiful lodge only helped to create the perfect wedding day for this awesome couple. As you can tell from the photographs, dancing to the Body Rock Band with this bridal party and groomsmen, was quite memorable. Of course WE always think our brides and grooms look amazing in their photographs, but it was so nice to have Melissa write to us; To Fred Marcus Photography, "Thank you SO much! A NYC Engagement Shoot with Brett and Jill

We really like the photography shoots with our engaged couples for a couple of reasons. It gives them time to feel comfortable in front of the camera and it gives us a chance to get acquainted with them. Jill and Brett, you both were amazing! A Magical Wedding at Oheka Castle

Spring is finally here, and the weather has been absolutely gorgeous! What's a better way to spend our day, other than with this amazing couple at the historic Oheka Castle. Nestled on 44 manicured acres in Oyster Bay, NY, there are not many places that can top this venue for WOW factor. You probably have seen it on the hit TV show, ROYAL PAINS as well as dozens of fashion spreads. We had a great time photographing Rich and Bari on their wedding day, and the gorgeous blue skies only added to this perfect setting! I think our entire photographic staff would love to always have this many great locations to shoot in. Our dear friend and party planner Amy Winters called this wedding, "SPECTACULAR!" Andrew Pascoe Flowers created stunning floral arrangements throughout the castle and guests gottheir groove on with the band members of Faze 4. Thank you Rich and Bari for allowing us to share this special day with the two of you!

Heating Up A February Night At The Pierre Hotel

It may have been February but that did not stop Justin and Colby from having a HOT party at the Pierre Hotel. Event coordinator Bianca Blag along with fabulous floral designers' Atlas Floral Decorators and lighting by Frost Lighting helped to create the exceptional ambiance to this fun couple. This wedding was spectacular by even the most modest standards - the wedding cake designed by the legendary Sylvia Weinstock was the nightcap to an amazing evening. Our photographers and film makers captured all the love and fun the couple had that night and we can't wait to design their wedding album!

What makes our studio what it is, what makes it so exciting, is that we never know when the phone will ring and we find a long-time client on the other end of the line. This was recently the case when Ralou and Ronnie called, whose wedding we shot many years ago. They told us that their son David was getting married, and that they wouldn't want anyone else to photograph their son's wedding but us. That made our day! It was no surprise to us that the wedding of Haley and David was nothing short of spectacular. Haley looked absolutely stunning and truly is as kind and warm as she is gorgeous. Watching David take his first look at his bride was priceless. It was one of the sweetest moments we have ever captured, as the two make for perfect soul mates. From the tasteful flower arrangements by Atlas Floral to the romantic lighting by Frost, the Pierre Hotel was transformed into a picture perfect setting. What a fun St. Patrick's Day it was! We were chosen to photograph the wedding of Morgan and Jeremy at Cipriani 42. The wedding was so much fun with trapeze artists and musicians galore. Turns out that our gorgeous bride Morgan is the daughter of legendary band leader Mark Stevens of Hank Lane Music. We are so excited by the images we just had to put some up on our blog. I just looked at the bridal shower photos and again at the sign-in book. Throughout all the trials and tribulations of wedding planning over the past year and questioning myself on so many of the choices I made, one thing has never changed... my 100% right decision to use Fred Marcus Studios. Your work is exquisite, your presentations are magnificent and all the people in the office are amazing. You have made this, so far, very pleasant for me and for that I want to thank you. I know that the wedding will be terrific with Brian and his crew there and I can't wait to see those photos. It was a pleasure to photograph Morgan and Kerri's wedding. The bride was absolutely beautiful, and Morgan couldn't look any happier to marry her! The ceremony was at the gorgeous St. Ignatius Loyola church and made for the perfect setting to wed. Look how amazing the two look together! Family and friends celebrated the marriage at 583 Park Ave and wow, was this room beautiful. With the help of Michael George Flowers, the tasteful flower arrangements and candle lit tables looked like a dream. This wedding of Adam and Amy was certainly one of the more expressive weddings we have ever shot! The excitement on Amy's face in every single photo is just so emotional!

The day took place at the beautiful Rockleigh Country Club, and we enjoyed every second of it. Belle Fleur arranged gorgeous flowers throughout the country club and Eturnity Band allowed guests to dance the night away during the party. There is nothing like a New York City wedding! Michael & Michele made heads turn as they walked throughout the streets of Manhattan and into Grand Central Station. When Fred Marcus started his photography company in 1941, little did he know that his original client’s grandchildren and great grandchildren would be coming in for their baby’s first portraits 71 years later! Think about this for a minute! The idea fascinates us every single day and we can’t even describe the rush we get when we hear the common words, “Fred shot my grandma’s wedding!”

While we cherish these relationships with our generational friends, we can’t help to just want more. We want to make new friends, yet of course keep the old. It’s a new and exciting year and with this, everyone here at Fred Marcus Photography has caught the current bug of social networking. In 2012, we would love to have the ability to reach out to all of our current clients, friends and family. We want to share what is going on with everybody, through photos of the most monumental chapters in people's lives. The sky is the limit!

David and Allison chose the perfect venue for such a perfect couple as themselves. We always love shooting weddings at The Palm House at Brooklyn Botanical Gardens because of its vibrant colors and gorgeous aura. We always love when we have children come into the studio. The energy is so refreshing and so rewarding! When our good friend Staci brought her adorable kids Summer and Hunter into the studio, we already knew the shots would come out fantastic! We had a blast photographing the wedding of Valerie & Vince at the beautiful NYIT de Seversky Mansion on Long Island. The weather outside was just perfect. A deep blue sky, the bright summer sun and just a hint of wind, created a beautiful setting for us to capture some of the most amazing portraits. The elegant flower arrangements were created by Michelle (at Flowers by Michelle), and the caterers at City Sweets & Confections served delicious edibles all evening. The guests danced into the night to the sultry sounds of Hank Lane and the More Than Music band. Everything was just perfect!

Dear Marcus Family,

I saw a former student of mine the other day and she told me that
your family photography business has blossomed and grown. One of the
highlights of my career was when your grandfather, Fred, came and spoke
to my class in Roslyn. Every year when I teach about WWII and the
Holocaust, I retell his story to all of my students. I just wanted you
to know that his legacy lives on not just within your business, but with
my students and me as well.
