An Amazing Wedding at the Grand Hyatt

Samantha and Adam's chemistry was undeniable from the second they walked into our studio. It was no surprise that they've known each other since adolescence! Thank you Sam for writing this to us :)

How many people can say they met the person they would spend the rest of their lives with when they were 14 years old? We can. Adam and I met through a mutual friend when we were just 14. I wish I could say we were together ever since, but living in separate cities and attending different schools made us lose touch. Through fate and modern day technology, aka Facebook, we reconnected during our sophomore year at college and started dating that summer.

How many people can say they would end up marrying their best friend? We can. Adam and I not only fell in love, but we became best friends. Cliché? Yes, but we’re truly inseparable and our friends tease us about it all the time. The years seemed to fly by and on our 5th year anniversary Adam proposed. It was the happiest moment of my life. That is, until our wedding day came.

How many people can say they have the best memories of their wedding day? We can. After our wedding came and went all we were left with were our memories… our memories and the photos to piece them all together. Felix and his team not only captured the moments that we would never forget, but they captured some of the moments we never even realized were happening. They were amazing the entire day and made everyone feel comfortable and special. After all is said and done the photos tell the story of our incredible day, and we want to thank Felix, Hermin, and Fred Marcus Photography for giving us the BEST memories.

Love At First Sight

Posted on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 - 0 comments -

We got the chills from this letter from Jerese. "Love at first sight" really does exist, doesn't it.

Sean and I met in July 2007 at a mutual friend's party. If love at first sight is possible, then it truly happened to me. When he walked into the room the sea parted, the angels were singing and there was a light that surrounded him. I instantly started to inquire who he was and he did the same. For whatever reason, our friend did not want to introduce us. However, when we both leaned into her at the same time and asked one more time - she threw up her arms in defeat.

After a series of group dates I finally got my one on one. At the end of the date he asked me what I had planned for the following day. I told him that I had an audition, but that I wasn't sure if I was going to go because I probably won't get it anyhow. He looked at me and said, "You'll never get anything if you don't try." And that was that. He had won my heart with those simple words. Here was this man that I just met, pushing me to be a better version of myself. Every day after that I pushed myself harder and life started falling into place. For the first time in my life I knew what complete happiness was and I wasn't going to let it go.

We took our time dating, enjoying each other, experiencing new life together. He took me to ball games and I took him to the ballet. Then a little after four years, he asked me to do him the honor of being his wife. Together, we didn't just find love, but a teammate for life.

A Wedding That Brought Back Many Memories

Posted on Thursday, December 20, 2012 - 0 comments -

I have known Kim since she was a little girl and have wonderful memories of her playing with my daughter Stefani, and of our families becoming close friends over the years. One of my favorite photos from the wedding, is of Kim's dad seeing his daughter for the first time in her wedding dress. What a special moment that was, it actually brought tears not only to Todd¹s eyes, but to all of us watching. Kim has grown into such a mature and beautiful woman, one that is not only successful and smart, but so much fun to be with. She always makes me laugh. Nathaniel her husband, is an outstanding athlete competing in Triathlons and Iron Man events. Together they make a great pair, as you can see from the images captured. My wish for you is a lifetime of happiness and love. We look forward to sharing many more happy events with your families.

A Special Note From A Lovely Bride

"We met one night out in the Meatpacking District, NYC, where it was simply the right place at the right time (aka "fate"). Since our first date and the day after, we knew we had something special. We spent almost every day together and two years later were engaged and planning our special day. We knew our venue Guastavinos NYC right away and our band Vali Entertainment. Choosing Fred Marcus Photography and Felix was just as easy and one of the most important vendors for us, as they would soon be capturing memories of the most special day of our lives. Felix did not disappoint and did just that! He was so much fun and easy to work with, kept us at ease and on time, and even got our 11 month old nephew all photogenic! We couldn't wait to get our pictures to relive our wedding day and were pleased to see stunning and creative shots on our beautiful and warm sunny day in late October. From getting ready, to Grand Central, the 59th St bridge by our venue, formal shots, and of course the PARTY, Fred Marcus Photography is the best in the business and a pleasure to work with. We thank you for creating lifetime memories of our most spectacular day!" -Shirley

A Perfect Wedding at the Plaza Hotel

Katherine & Bryan,

I just wanted to thank you so much for this beautiful letter. It made the studio and myself so proud and really just made my day.

"Bryan and I have been together for almost seven years and have therefore gathered an incredible amount of wonderful memories together.  However, our wedding at The Plaza Hotel was by far the best day of our lives.  Brian Marcus and his team captured it in the most fun, beautiful, and breathtaking way imaginable!  When I woke up the day after our wedding, I looked at Bryan and said, "Our wedding was absolutely perfect!  When do you think the pictures will be ready?!"  Being the true professional, Brian Marcus got us our digital and hard copy proofs almost immediately, and they were everything that we imagined they would be.. and more!  Brian and his team captured every single special moment with the utmost class and grace and provided us with an awesome array of photographs--We had the formal shots, intimate shots, momentous and artistic shots, and fun shots!--including us with our wedding party dancing with street break-dancers and stopping traffic on Central Park South to take a picture in front of a New York City tour bus!  As every bride and groom know, gathering families and a large wedding party for pictures is extremely hard, but Brian and his team made it look easy, kept us laughing, and made our wedding day stress free and so much fun!  In addition, the candid photographs from the ceremony and the reception perfectly froze in time how excited and happy everyone was to be celebrating such a joyous event.  Seriously,  every smile, tear, laugh, hug, dance, and kiss were caught on camera.  Brian Marcus and his team at Fred Marcus Photography are by far the best this business has to offer.  No words could ever accurately convey how grateful we are for everything that you did for us.  Brian, you are a true artist, a professional, and a gentleman.  From the bottom of our hearts...THANK YOU!!!"

All the best,
Brian Marcus

A Gorgeous Wedding at the Mandarin Oriental With Our New Friends Jamie and David!

Posted on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 - 0 comments -

We recently reached out to Jamie and David to hear about their very own love-story as a couple, and experience with Fred Marcus Photography on their wedding day!

We are high school sweethearts who have been together for over 9 years! We started dating when David was a senior and I was a sophomore, and we have been together ever since (even attending different colleges). Our wedding was at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in New York, and it was absolutely the most special and most fun day of our lives. Getting back our beautiful photos has enabled us to relive everything. Brian Marcus is an amazing photographer and made the whole experience enjoyable, including bringing our 25-person bridal party into the middle of Columbus Circle traffic to take great shots! In addition to the Fred Marcus team, we want to thank many of the people who contributed to making our wedding perfect for us: Arthur and James at the Mandarin are simply fantastic; Lawrence Scott Events created the most beautiful ceremony and reception; Gail Curtis played the most wonderful ceremony music; and our DJ Jason Fioto of Generation Events kept everyone dancing until 2:30am!

To Jamie and David; That day was just as special to everybody here at Fred Marcus Photography.  It has been a pleasure getting to know you guys, and we look forward to many other wonderful occasions with you!
